Loneliness
It starts when you realize something is missing. You feel the bite of loneliness with every mention, with every glance, with every thought It is bad in the beginning Because it is fresh. You will continue to bleed You can not hold yourself up Lulled into a sense of false victory it is easy to forget that there is no easy fix For it is your heart, not your head, that needs curing. With each new something that comes and goes, until you are entirely consumed. For the fangs of loneliness not only a sting it is a poison that was curse you Now you are alone, Your emotions stolen, played with, and abused Leaving you with just your distractions of the mind, Completely drowned by the toxins |
Just Who?
To ponder on existence is a sorrowful task To slowly remove the meaning of life’s sweet mask. To grow, to work, to smile and cry To forcibly struggle on believing the lie. To love and hate in equal measure To realise the pointlessness in pleasure. To know that a life is relatively brief To fill the time with unrelenting grief. To spend long nights in the cold and dark To correlate pain with the morning lark. To clamber through from Birth to Death All the while questioning every breath. |
